Frisky Cat Cafe

Frisky Cat Cafe is a Jacksonville-based nonprofit cat rescue operating a 2,000-square-foot cat lounge plus café to promote adoption by getting cats out of shelter environments and into a fun, entertaining, therapeutic space. A $12 donation per person per hour funds housing, medical care, spay/neuter surgeries, food, and supplies—every dollar goes 100% to cat welfare. The mission is clear: promote adoption of older adult cats and help Small Lives Matter Kitten Rescue achieve their vision that one day animals will no longer be killed in America's shelters.

The cat lounge features a relaxing, minimalistic Nordic-style design with comfy furniture, furry pillows, and floor futons—a luxe foster home for over 50 resident cats and kittens. Separate kitten rooms allow visitors to experience the younger cats apart from adults. The space is designed for both entertainment and relaxation, whether you want to play, cuddle, study with free WiFi, or simply work alongside cats. The café serves locally roasted Bold Bean Coffee in handcrafted barista-style espresso drinks, plus boba teas, smoothies, teas, wine, beer, and a variety of savory and sweet bakery items—macarons are a specialty. The café and lounge are separated; you can enjoy beverages and snacks in either space.

Ample parking provides easy access on the main road with volunteer assistance available for those needing mobility support. Research shows that petting purring cats and watching them play lowers stress, lessens depression, and reduces blood pressure. Staff are friendly and kind, clearly loving the cats like their own. All cats and kittens are available for adoption. Every visit helps a shelter cat in need—and leaves human visitors with elevated endorphins and lowered stress.
