The Kitty Crib is Champaign-Urbana's nonprofit cat lounge and café, operated by
Moore's Rescue Ranch—an animal rescue founded by Kim Dalluge on a family farm dedicated to rescuing animals at the greatest risk: those with disabilities, on euthanasia lists, or in overcrowded shelters. The Kitty Crib was created to provide these cats a calm, cage-free space to recover and thrive while waiting for loving homes, while simultaneously offering the community an affordable, welcoming sanctuary for de-stressing, studying, or simply enjoying feline companionship.
The space embodies comfort and accessibility, featuring comfy couches, playful feline friends, and a complimentary coffee and hot chocolate bar. It truly feels like home for both humans and cats—perfect for catching up with friends, settling in for a study session, or enjoying quality time with adoptable rescue cats. The facility is exceptionally clean, and every cat is vetted, vaccinated, and ready to meet you. Reservations are required on weekends from August through May to keep the space calm and comfortable for everyone; walk-ins may be accepted during slower times. All funds raised through visits directly support cat vetting, food, supplies, and the mission to expand rescue efforts.
The Kitty Crib is family-friendly for kids of all ages and adults alike.
Private event rentals ($200/hour) are available for birthday parties, club meetings, study sessions, and gatherings—all enhanced by the presence of adoptable feline residents. Staff are exceptionally kind and friendly. Future plans include building a dog facility and launching animal-assisted therapy programs. Every visitor, every dollar, every cuddle makes a meaningful difference in the lives of animals in need.
