The Cafe Meow in Roseville is Minnesota's first cat cafe, featuring two completely separate spaces: a coffee shop and a dedicated cat lounge. The cafe hosts regular monthly events including Paint Your Cat On Canvas, Catgo, and Yoga with Cats programming. All beverages and food purchased in the cafe can be brought into the cat lounge. The cat lounge operates on a cover fee system: $10.50 per person per hour on weekdays and $15.75 on weekends, which directly supports feeding, caring for, and housing cats. Cat lounge experiences begin at the top of each hour.

The lounge houses up to 30 rescue cats at any given time, all sourced from local no-kill rescue partners and available for adoption. Visitors need not intend to adopt; cats benefit immensely from socialization with diverse visitors, increasing their likelihood of successful future placements. The cafe accommodates families with specific policies: children six and younger visit only during exclusive reservations, while children seven and older are welcome anytime with appropriate adult supervision and subject to maximum hourly admissions. Online reservations are optional but strongly recommended for weekend visits, with walk-in tickets available first-come-first-served from unsold online inventory.

The adoption process begins by booking a cat lounge visit and identifying interest in specific cats. Staff provide guidance and answer adoption questions in-lounge or on the cafe side. The cafe encourages visitors to remain open to unexpected matches, as personality connections often lead to better outcomes than pursuing predetermined preferences. Exclusive party reservations are available for events, with the requirement that hosts avoid noisemakers, balloons, and confetti due to potential cat distress. The cafe works exclusively with No Kitten Left Behind as its rescue partner.
