Little Paws Cat Cafe

Little Paws Cat Cafe emerged from the genuine passion of Bryan and Jennifer Borecki, lifelong Northern Ontario residents who, after volunteering at a local shelter for a year and a half, were inspired to create a dedicated space where cats could find forever families while visitors experienced the profound mental health benefits of feline companionship. Located in a beautiful downtown building at 484 Ferguson Ave, Haileybury, ON, the café bridges rescue mission with community wellness. The space reflects careful intention: a warm, welcoming environment with aesthetically pleasing décor, excellent coffee and treats, and partnerships with local rescues ensuring all resident cats are available for adoption. The founders understand that "cats reduce stress, offer companionship, and petting them releases stress-reducing hormones"—and they've built an entire sanctuary around this science.

Visitors describe Little Paws as "an absolute gem" and "phenomenal," praising the warm, friendly atmosphere, cleanliness, and genuine care evident in both staff interactions and cat welfare. The café experience exceeds expectations: one reviewer noted "great coffee, delicious treats, and an entire menu of caffeine-free beverage creations," while another highlighted "a spot for sharing a coffee with somebody." The cat room itself is "cozy and a great way to meet a potential new kitty friend," with strict rules protecting feline wellbeing (no shoes, socks required; quiet voices; cats initiate contact; no chasing or picking up). Reviews emphasize how the café prioritizes both the "cafe" and the cats equally—neither feels like an afterthought. One reviewer adopted "two sweetest black cats from here" and called the experience "so great and swift," illustrating how the space genuinely facilitates meaningful adoptions.
