Kzoo Cat Cafe and Rescue is Kalamazoo's first and only cat cafe, dedicated to providing adoptable rescue cats a stress-free, cage-free environment while they await forever homes. One-hour appointments include self-serve beverage selection (decaf coffee, hot chocolate, tea, soda, juice, water), pre-packaged snacks, and full access to the lounge with 50+ adoptable rescue cats and kittens representing various ages and colors. The cafe offers a calm, welcoming atmosphere with free snacks and a diversity of personalities among resident cats. The space is regularly maintained to spotless standards, creating a comfortable environment for both animals and visitors.

The rescue operates with a clear adoption philosophy centered on best-interest decision-making. The organization accepts applications only from ages 21 and older and maintains thorough vetting processes including landlord verification and veterinary record review for any current or previous pets. Out-of-state or out-of-town applicants are typically not accepted. Adoption fees are comprehensive, covering spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, vaccinations, combo testing, fecal testing, regular deworming, flea treatment, and any necessary veterinary care. Foster coordinators retain final approval on all adoption applications, with behavior during cafe visits considered as part of evaluation. The organization actively recruits foster homes, providing all supplies, medical care, and 24/7 guidance while fosters offer safe space, love, and patience.
