Established in 2022, Kitty Kisses is Reno's first and only cat cafe, offering a thoughtfully separated design that accommodates both cat lovers and those with allergies. The facility operates Thursday through Tuesday from 11am to 5pm (closed Wednesdays for cleaning and cat intake) and is available from the ground up, with a distinct cafe space separate from the cat lounge. Cat lounge access is available on a pay-per-session basis of $15-20 per 50-minute session with a limited capacity of 10 visitors per session. For frequent visitors, monthly and annual memberships offer significant savings and additional benefits. The venue also welcomes
private events, hosting birthday parties for ages 10 and up, as well as small group gatherings and meetings in the cat lounge.
The cat lounge encompasses over 1,500 square feet and features a mix of permanent resident cats alongside foster and adoptable animals from local rescue partners. This dual model gives visitors the option to build long-term relationships with familiar cats or meet new animals available for adoption. In 2024, Kitty Kisses expanded its mission by launching Kitty Kisses Rescue of Reno (KKRR), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit focused on cat welfare and resources, and opened Kitty Kisses Board and Breakfast, a boutique cat resort offering luxury boarding designed to support the rescue's ongoing work. The organization actively partners with multiple rescue groups specializing in various cat-saving efforts, effectively expanding rescue capacity while helping animals find forever homes.
Visitors consistently emphasize the exceptional cleanliness of the facility and the evident care and knowledge staff display toward individual cats. Multiple reviewers note that cats are visibly well-loved and well-maintained, with staff able to recount detailed stories about specific animals. While some earlier reviews mention staff presence in the cat lounge, positive recent reviews frame this as a deliberate safety and welfare protocol that also enhances the experience through knowledgeable conversation. The cats themselves are described as loving and approachable, with reviewers finding themselves staying longer than planned and feeling motivated to return. The combination of a clean, open, playful environment; staff expertise; and commitment to rescue work has created a distinctive cat cafe experience that prioritizes feline welfare without compromising visitor enjoyment.
