Fur Babies Cat Cafe

Fur Babies Cat Cafe is Carroll County's first cat cafe, proudly serving as a foster home for adoptable Carroll County Animal Shelter kitties since 2021. Founded by native West Georgia residents Becky Preston and Sarah Seagle—both passionate animal lovers driven by the dire situation facing cats in their local community—the cafe creates a warm, inviting space where cat lovers visit, relax, and potentially find their forever friend while supporting shelter cats. The mission combines nurturing environment design with genuine adoption support and community stress relief.

All cats in the cafe are from Carroll County Animal Shelter, specifically selected by shelter personnel and allowed to live full-time at the cafe until adoption. Every cat is spayed/neutered, microchipped, and fully vetted to their age. Visits require a minimum of one hour ($14 fee per person), which ensures good matches between visitors and cats. The hourly rate includes complimentary coffee or tea that visitors can prepare themselves, plus access to the entire cat room where kitties roam freely instead of living in cages. This home-like environment showcases their true personalities and allows them to choose their people as much as people choose them. The space is exceptionally clean with ample seating, toys, and multiple spaces for cats to interact, rest, or hide.

Reservations are recommended and can be made online or by phone during business hours—the cafe limits visitor numbers each hour to ensure cat safety and well-being. The staff are exceptionally friendly, personable, and knowledgeable. You can purchase treats and toys for your visit or for your own pets at home. Four resident kitties cannot be adopted (they've stolen the owners' hearts permanently). Visitors consistently praise the clean, welcoming space, the abundance of sweet and playful cats, and the ease of the adoption process. Many leave with new family members. Becky and Sarah volunteer with numerous local nonprofits and explore the city together, bringing that community spirit directly into their cafe's mission and daily operations.
