Cleocatra Café - Osborne Village

Cleocatra Café operates as a dual-location vintage coffee shop and rescue cat haven in Winnipeg, with roots deeply embedded in the mission of providing abandoned cats a second chance at life and love. The Osborne Village location at 106 Osborne St anchors the operation as the primary community hub, housing 20+ adoptable rescue cats within a thoughtfully designed "Cat Village"—a playful yet peaceful space featuring leafy accents, cozy nooks, and abundant enrichment opportunities. Partnered with a network of non-profit animal rescues across Canada, Cleocatra sources its feline residents from cats who have been mistreated, injured, or abandoned, providing them with a safe, nurturing environment where they can heal and grow comfortable around people before finding their forever families. Since inception, Cleocatra has been instrumental in facilitating 650 adoptions, a testament to the transformative power of allowing potential adopters to meet and bond with cats in a warm, relaxed setting rather than viewing them through shelter enclosures.

Google reviews paint a vivid picture of visitors leaving with stolen hearts and genuine appreciation for both the cats and the space. Guests consistently praise the staff for their genuine kindness and care, with reviewers noting the sweet, attentive service throughout their visits. The cat room itself receives repeated compliments for being clean, appealing, and thoughtfully designed with "lots of different places for them to sleep and rest," demonstrating clear prioritization of feline comfort. Visitors highlight the beautiful, cohesive branding throughout the cafe—from social media to website to physical interiors—creating an aesthetically consistent, immersive experience. One reviewer noted the "unique decor of the building" as "so fascinating to watch" in combination with cat interactions. Another guest captured the essence: "the kitties will most likely steal your hearts and you'll be very tempted to take one (or two) home with you." Cats are described as adorable, affectionate, and interactive. A particularly thoughtful touch mentioned in reviews: visitors receive a pouch of food to feed the kittens during their visit, creating deeper bonds and engaging experiences. The Osborne location also hosts weekly special events including Painting Nights, Teddy Bear Workshops, and Acoustic Nights, fostering an active community of cat lovers.

Operating Monday and Thursday-Friday 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and Saturday-Sunday 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM (closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays), Cleocatra Osborne requires reservations, which are highly recommended especially for weekends and holidays, though walk-ins are welcome if space permits. The cafe serves specialty coffees and desserts; one reviewer specifically praised traditional Vietnamese coffee and a banana cookie with filling as "delicious." The space includes a gift shop featuring Cleocatra-branded merchandise including pins, stickers, hats, and shirts, with proceeds benefiting the cats' care and rescue operations. The location features a full coffee bar with skilled baristas crafting fresh beverages. For adoption inquiries, the process begins with a meet-and-greet visit where guests interact with cats and staff provide information about each cat's history, temperament, and needs. Those interested complete an adoption application and undergo a brief interview with the adoption team. Parking in the Osborne area can be hectic; nearby paid lots are available.
