Cats & Crystals began as a small Etsy shop fueled by a passion for felines and the magical, eventually expanding into pop-up shops across the country before opening its permanent Oceanside storefront. The café exists as more than a typical cat lounge—it serves as an interactive museum celebrating feline companionship, with hidden details throughout the space and abundant photo opportunities. The facility operates as a partnership with Fairy Tail Rescue, channeling all adoption efforts and a portion of proceeds toward the rescue mission. What sets Cats & Crystals apart is its origin story: the founder started the business to fulfill a lifelong dream they shared with their mother to rescue and foster cats, now honoring her memory through a space dedicated to helping animals find safety and love.

The lounge itself balances retail and relaxation seamlessly. A gift shop showcases locally made art and handcrafted goods celebrating cat culture, while the main space features comfortable couches and toys scattered throughout for interactive play. The coffee partnership with Jitters Coffee Pub (located next door) allows visitors to grab pre-visit beverages before their session, with the café open 7am–1pm. Sessions run either 30 minutes ($15 on weekdays) or 70 minutes ($20 on weekdays), accommodating up to 8 guests per time slot though private visits can be arranged for larger groups. All cats in the lounge are adoptable, and staff readily guide visitors through the adoption process with detailed communication and support.
