Catmosphere is a brand-new venture born from genuine passion for cats, coffee, and community. Co-founders Sophia Coello (first-generation Peruvian/Puerto Rican) and Marcus Tirado (second-generation Puerto Rican) opened their doors in July 2026 with a clear mission: create a space where people and adoptable cats connect meaningfully. Sophia, a rescue cat mom herself, brings her love of animals and heartfelt approach to hospitality. Marcus discovered cats later in life (2019) but fell deeply in love; inspired by his grandparents' generosity and Puerto Rico's community values, he's rooted Catmosphere in local bonds and neighborhood support. The cafe also provides a platform for local artisans and businesses to showcase their work, making it a true community hub.
Catmosphere operates on a reserved cat room model ($20 per hour, free for children 2 and under) designed to ensure both adoptable cats and visitors have quality time together. The space features creative, playful cat-themed drinks like the "Ameri-cat-o" and standout options like the cream de banana iced latte (described by early visitors as "phenomenal"). Treats and baked goods round out the menu, alongside artisanal coffee. The resident cats are all available for adoption through
Homeward Bound Pet Adoption Center, making each visit an opportunity to potentially meet your new family member. The team hosts events and workshops to engage the cat-loving community. As a newly opened business, Catmosphere is evolving and learning from feedback—a promising young venture with authentic heart.
Located in Collingswood, New Jersey, Catmosphere is open Monday, Wednesday–Sunday (closed Tuesday). Hourly cat room sessions are $20; book online in advance. The café area is accessible without reservation. For current hours, menu details, and to book a cat room session, visit their website or contact catmosphere.nj@gmail.com.
