Cat Cafe Mofumofu

Established in April 2014 as General Association Mofumofu-do, this Matsumoto-based rescue organization launched its cat cafe in July 2015 to support adoption efforts. The organization achieved the remarkable milestone of zero euthanasia at Matsumoto health office through dedicated TNR and rescue operations. With expansion continuing—a permanent adoption location opens February 2026 at Shiojiri—Mofumofu-do focuses increasingly on cats from hoarding situations and elderly owners unable to provide care. The white building sits near Highway 19's "South Matsumoto" intersection, making it accessible from across the region.

The facility hosts 10+ adoptable rescue cats at various socialization stages, from immediately affectionate to those still learning trust. Several cats require FIP treatment—now treatable but costly, with community support funding ongoing care.
