About Cat Cafe Cota
猫カフェcota is located in the Nishijin district of Fukuoka, a short three-minute walk from Saiwamachi Station, making it easily accessible for visitors seeking a casual cat cafe experience. The cafe features thirteen cats of various breeds including Ragdolls, Munchkins, and American Shorthairs, each with distinct personalities that staff members know intimately. The establishment operates from 11 AM to 9 PM daily, with a dedicated commitment to cat welfare evident throughout the facility's design and operational practices.
The interior showcases carefully curated, handmade cat furniture and accessories that create an aesthetically pleasing yet functional environment for both feline and human visitors. The cafe employs a thoughtful approach to pricing, with daytime rates of ¥1,300 per hour (including one drink) and evening rates of ¥1,200 for unlimited time. An extensive drink menu featuring specialty coffees, teas from LUPICIA, and alcoholic options accommodates diverse preferences, while the space remains comfortable enough for solo visitors despite its modest size. The staff maintains an unobtrusive presence, checking in periodically rather than hovering, which allows guests the privacy to relax and enjoy the cats at their own pace.
Service enhancements include a daily 3 PM snack time featuring complimentary cat treats for all guests present, a 5 PM feeding time where visitors can observe the cats dining together, and specialized kids' days on select Sundays with extended hours and priority entry for families. The cafe implements strict animal welfare protocols, including a no-flash photography policy to protect cat vision, prohibitions on picking up cats, and rules against waking sleeping felines. Visitor reviews consistently praise the cats' willingness to engage, the cafe's cleanliness, and staff expertise in facilitating meaningful human-cat interactions. Guests describe their experience as one of the best cat cafe visits they've had, with staff providing treats and guidance that enhanced playtime significantly. Group visitors benefit from extended time bonuses and complimentary cat treats, while parking discounts are available for parties of three or more arriving by car.
